Most amla powders on the shelf are amla plus sugar, or amla carrying ascorbic acid in a carrier powder. We dry the fruit and mill it, and nothing else goes in the drum.
The tartness is sharp and honest, and it behaves differently in a formulation. It pulls more liquid, and it will sour a blend faster, which is exactly what a beverage developer needs to know before building the recipe rather than after.
Because it is unsweetened, the sweetness in a finished drink has to come from somewhere real - fruit, date, honey - instead of being carried in by a carrier that also happens to carry the vitamin.

How to use it
- Half a teaspoon in warm water with honey.
- Blend with ginger and black pepper into an amla-ginger shot.
- Add to carrot and orange juice for a vitamin C base.
- Dust over a salad dressing for a sour, tannic edge.
